Today is the WHS Prom, so I thought it would be fun to bring Samara again. I just changed her into a fancy dress (thanks, Aunt Shari!) and plopped Samara in front of the mirror to look at herself. Here is what happened:

5/12/15: Winking, new heels, looking at herself, and playing with Zane
May 12, 2015
Samara has been obsessed with watching herself in the camera. In the first video, I ask her to kiss Zane and she watches herself in the camera the whole time. To distract her, I ask her to wink, which turns out to be pretty funny.

Later on, she finds some play high heels that Grandma and Grampi gave her. She very cutely thanks Grandma at the end of the video.
At Samara's bed time, I put Zane in the crib so Samara could wash up, but she wanted to hang out with him. They were being very cute, so I pulled out my phone to take a video. Samara immediately began saying that she wanted to see herself (in the video). I ask her to tap to Zane, so she asks him if he wants to see her. I guess I should have seen that one coming.
After showing Samara that video, she resumed being cute with Zane. Here, she plays a cute (and surprisingly gentle) game of "Where's Zane?"
Zane got a little fed up with his head being covered, so I asked Samara not to cover his head anymore. So she put the cloth on his tummy and was trying to "burp" him as a way to not put the cloth in his face, which she alludes to at about 0:11. The kisses at the end are so adorable. Oh these kids are so cute!
5/11/15: Winking

Samara's new thing to do right now: winking (and watching herself in the camera).

5/3/15: Sunday fun day
May 3, 2015
While Seth and Pop Pop were busy finishing the swing set, Grandma, Samara, Zane, and I went to the shoe store. Samara came home rocking some new shoes:
We watched Seth and Pop Pop finish assembling the swing set. It looks great!

Although it had been a long, fun day, Samara still had some energy left to jump around before bed time. My two favorite parts are when she miscounts around 18 seconds and when she loses her balance at 1:06.

5/2/15: Fro-yo
May 2, 2015
Pop Pop and Grandma were visiting this weekend. While Pop Pop and Seth were busy putting together the swing set, Grandma, Samara, Zane, and I went to Orange Leaf for some yogurt. Samara can be seen below enjoying some pistachio and raspberry.

She decided that using the spoon was too mainstream, so she started to lick the yogurt from the bowl instead:
As the yogurt started to melt, Samara drank the yogurt rather than licking it. At this point, I would like to remind you that she had green and pink yogurt in her cup. When the yogurt was liquid enough that it stuck to the bottom of the cup, Samara had to really tip her head back to drink it. Then, all of a sudden she starts to cry and sound really upset. Grandma and I look up to see that the yogurt had fallen right onto her face! For a brief second it was extremely hilarious because the yogurt landed in such a way that half of her face was green and the other half was pink! If I weren't afraid of being judged by all the other families I would have taken a picture, but Samara was too distraught for me not to do anything but wipe her face.

4/24/15: Visit to the zoo
April 24, 2015
We took the kids to the zoo today, but Samara was afraid during most of the exhibits. In the photo below she is clutching Seth because she doesn't like the loud waterfall.
She does, however, like watching the lemurs, which are always a crowd favorite. Samara watched them leap from tree to tree and liked when they sat close to the window.
Another exhibit that she liked was with finches. She liked them so much that she asked Seth to go back so she could watch them again. They are small, super colorful, and cheerful. They fly quickly from place to place and are always a joy to observe.

I think Zane was sleeping though most of the trip, so there aren't any pictures of him.

4/23/15: Banana art
April 23, 2015
And I am back, blogging after about a year's break from blogging. For those of you that want to see more timely posted pics of the kids, follow me on Instagram.
Samara was not really eating her banana anymore and it looked as if she were playing with it. I filmed her for a while making banana art, followed by her stating, "I make it" in her little baby voice. Seeing as over a year has passed since the day this happened, I am amazed by how much progress she has made with vocabulary, pronunciation, and ease with complex sentences.

4/19/15: Hanging with Zane and big smiles
April 19, 2015
Samara was in a great mood today. She woke up and wanted to spend time with Zane in the crib. She loves being with him, but doesn't quite know how to be gentle yet. Also, she is a little bit of a wimp (faker?) when he hits her by accident.
Then she started squishing his face.

4/18/15: Big slide and hat
April 18, 2015
Today we went to the playground. Samara is now brave enough to go on this big slide that she was too afraid to go on last year. Here is a very comical video of one of her first slides down it. Seth's and my favorite part is the dismount.

Hopefully you heard the "ow" at the end, which is definitely the funniest part.
Later on, Samara was playing with her hat and gloves, which she wanted to put on Seth.
4/16/15: Lie down with me, Nana
April 16, 2015
Samara doesn't like taking naps anymore. She either flat out refuses and has a tantrum, or she insists that you lie down with her. Today, Nana had the pleasure of lying down with her.
