3/3/15: Look at me, look at me, part II

March 3, 2015

Sunglasses + doggie apron = coolest girl in town.

3/2/15: At home with Zane and some silliness

March 2, 2015

Samara was uber-focused on her kitchen today. She is such a good observer and mimics lots of mundane activities, like drinking water, using the microwave, and cooking on the stove top.

Then she noticed Zane's music had turned off and wanted to do something about it.

Shortly after, it was coloring then snack time. I will let the pictures do the talking...

I will leave you with a video of Samara "reading" a book. I especially like when she 'eats" something from the book!

3/1/15: Grampi and Grandma visit

March 1, 2015

Samara is liking Zane more and more these days. You can see how she is helping Grandma Cathy wipe his mouth.

2/28/15: Chicken bake

February 28, 2015

Samara is trying her first chicken bake from Costco today. These are the faces that she makes when she tries anything for the first time.

2/27/15: Look at me, look at me

February 27, 2015

Today Cousin Frances and Aunty Lee came over for a visit. Aunty Lee brought Samara a nice book, while Cousin Frances brought some lovely accessories that Samara looked super cute in. Samara knows she looks cute, which should be really awesome when she is a teenager.

2/26/15: Oven mitts

February 26, 2015

Whenever I cook something in the oven, Samara gets really obsessed with the oven mitts and wants to play with them. (Doesn't she look super cute with her braids?)

2/20/15: Sick

February 20, 2015

*Note: This post mentions vomit a few times. If this grosses you out, stop reading!

Last night I called Seth at bowling, urging him to come home ASAP as Samara vomited all over the floor and, of course, Zane was crying hysterically and not sleeping. It is in moments like this that I realize I am not an unflappable person and was basically freaking out/annoyed/grossed out because I was carrying her when she threw up, so it went all over the two of us before hitting the floor.

This morning, Samara vomited in her bed and somehow slept in it. It was a sad, sad, gross mess. After she was clean, she was super clingy and FREAKED OUT when I was feeding Zane. She screamed and cried hysterically and then both kids passed out on me in bed.

This seems super cute, and it was for 5 minutes before it became the most uncomfortable position ever. I was able to slip out and put Zane in his own room, but then I ruined it by trying to get Samara to go in her bed. That did not happen. More FREAKING OUT happened. Then I chatted Seth and requested that he come home as early as he could.

2/16/15: Shoveling and a cookie

February 16, 2015

I used to keep a small plastic shovel in the back of my car. So when it snowed AGAIN and Samara wanted to help Seth shovel, it seemed the perfect size for her.

Samara was rewarded for her help with a cookie. It was a shortbread cookie that had a dollop of raspberry jam on the top. Here is how she eats it:

2/14/15: Happy Valentine's Day

February 14, 2015

Happy Valentine's Day! The morning started off in a sweet way with a nice loving moment:

Seth and Samara went to swim class, then to the grocery store where they were given free chocolate covered strawberries. Samara ate the chocolate and only nibbled on the strawberries (photos courtesy of Seth).

When they got back from the store, Samara had fun wearing my sweatshirt and showing us how much of a daredevil she is by "jumping" off the table.

2/9/15: I love you and feeding baby

February 9, 2015

I have been trying to get Samara to say I love you because I think that would be the best thing ever to hear come out of her mouth. I got her to repeat it twice today. The next step is to get her to say it on her own.

I think I have mentioned before that Samara is a really good observer and imitator. She has seen me nurse Zane for a while now, and she also seen me nurse with a cover. Today she decided to feed her own baby doll.
