3) Stick her hands in your mouth

4) Moosh your face all around

09/01/13: Labor Day weekend at Aunty's, Part 2

September 1, 2013

After a long night of restless, painful teething sleep, the next day was surprisingly pleasant. Samara was quite calm in the morning.

Samara got really excited when Seth put her up on his shoulders. She seemed to like the view and stopped to chomp on Seth's hair every now and then.

After that, Seth put Samara on his lap to spend more time with her. I LOVE this picture of Seth with Samara. It's too bad I couldn't get her face in the picture as well.

Ace came along to sniff around, and Samara was intrigued by him. He walked away at some point and her arms extended out after him. She missed him, so I called him back. These shots are one of her first experiences with a dog.

After quality time with Daddy, Samara spent some time being held by Grandma and Grampi.

The final picture of the post is a happy capture with Auntie Sarah.

08/31/13: Labor Day weekend at Aunty's

August 31, 2013

Aunty Sarah invited us up to spend Labor Day weekend. Grampi and Grandma were also visiting, so it was nice that Samara could see lots of family in one trip. We got there Saturday afternoon and hung out once everyone got back from the pontoon. Samara enjoyed lots of attention and love from Aunty and Grampi.

08/30/13: I am 7 months old!

August 30, 2013

Today Samara turns 7 months old! Crazy how time flies. She just gets cuter everyday. I am biased, though.

08/26/13: Look what I can do!

August 26, 2013

Samara and I were playing around when I realized that I had taught her a trick. It is sort of funny, because when you go to an animal show: dolphins, dogs, etc. and the trainer is asked how they come up with the tricks, s/he always responds that they just notice what the animals naturally do and kind of go with it. Well, I guess that's what happened with Samara. I sort of trained her to do a trick that she kind of does anyway, but now I can persuade her to do it.

08/25/13: Elm Bank

August 25, 2013

With the weekend continuing to have beautiful weather, Seth, Samara, and I headed to Wellesley to check out Elm Bank. They have a lot of grass fields for sports and picnics, and a beautiful garden full of plants that they test to see if they can transplant well here. Samara enjoyed her time here and seemed to like touching flowers.

08/25/13: Cheerios, Part 2

August 25, 2013

This morning Samara tried Cheerios again. Despite how easily taken yesterday's video looked, it actually is a lot for Samara to get used to. She has to perfect the pincer grip to pick up the Cheerio, she needs to get it in her mouth, she needs to keep it in her mouth, and she needs to not choke on it. She didn't really do many of these things that well in the video, but it is amusing watching her try.

08/24/13: Arnold Arboretum

August 24, 2013

It was a nice day out, so Seth and I decided to take Samara to the Arnold Arboretum. We were pushing Samara in the stroller and we noticed she was looking very unimpressed. She had a very odd, but funny, look on her face.

Then she started acting a little fussy, so we stopped at the first available bench and gave her a bottle. She had a hard time drinking it because she was so curious. Every time someone would walk or bike by, her head would follow them. It was cute, but a little annoying because she wasn't eating! Eventually we got her to drink most of it, but it took a while.

Once she finished eating, Seth strapped Samara into the Bjorn and she had a fun time exploring and touching all the trees and flowers. We didn't explore most of the arboretum today, but we will definitely go back to see some more of it!
