As I have mentioned before, Samara loves solid food. There was a week where her teacher at daycare would tell me everyday how much food she ate.
Who loves eating? This girl:
Samara loves banana bread.
She likes using the spoon, but has no idea how to feed herself without making a gigantic mess. I usually don't let her try because I am a crazy person who doesn't like messes, even if they are made by my own baby. So I just give her a clean spoon.
Since Grampi and Grandma were visiting, we picked up a cheesecake. Samara was sitting next to Grampi when I gave him a slice, and you should have seen how big and excited her eyes got! Here she is trying to get to the cheesecake.

11/2/13: Hiking and giggling

This morning we met up with some friends and their kids and went for a little hike. Samara loves being in the Bjorn and looking at her surroundings.
As I mentioned before, Samara's personality is starting to emerge and she loves being playful. Here you can see her playing around with another baby, apparently trying to lick her.
We pulled Samara away and she just laughed.
We are also trying to get Samara to wave. Seth is showing her how.
Here she is sort of doing it on her own. Good job, Samara!
When Samara is in the Bjorn, she loves licking and chewing on it.
Later that day, Grampi and Grandma came for a visit. When Grandma was holding Samara, Samara accidentally knocked over a container of spaghetti. Watch this video to see how entertaining this was to Samara. Sorry for the shaking. I was laughing with Samara.

11/1/13: Almost crawling (for real)?

I was trying to get Samara to dance again and noticed she was going onto her hands and knees. I thought that I might be able to capture her crawling on her hands and knees, but that day was not today. Oh well. In this video you can see her get up, then kind of just rock back and forth.

10/31/13: Halloween!

Today was Samara's 1st Halloween! I bought Samara's costume used for $3 and was feeling pretty excited about that. Samara had no opinion on that.
Through my Needham playgroup, we were invited to a neighborhood costume parade. Here are some of the kiddos meeting up before the parade. Note the mom who was totally out of the loop in terms of getting her kid a push toy.
Samara didn't nap very well at daycare, so she was pretty out of it for the whole parade. She basically was sucking her fingers with a lack of expression on her face. She did, however, sneak her pinky finger in her nose for a quick pick here and there. You can just imagine that finger ducking in there seconds after this photo was taken.
When we got home, I wanted to keep Samara in her costume as long as possible so we could greet the few trick-or-treaters. Samara's mind was blown when she discovered she had a tail.
